The Fairness in Factual campaign is supported by the Factual TV Joint Council (comprised of CWA Canada and IATSE).
During the past 5 years, more than 400 people who work in factual/reality TV have signed on to this campaign to form a collective voice to improve working conditions.
CWA Canada and its largest local, the Canadian Media Guild, represents nearly 6,000 media, production and post-production workers across Canada, including at VICE Canada, BuzzFeed Canada, CBC, TVO, and Aboriginal Peoples Television Network.
With 140,000 members across North America, IATSE is the largest trade union representing workers in the entertainment industry. The 29,000 Canadian members are the skilled technicians behind the scenes of foreign service productions like Star Trek: Discovery or Canadian productions like Cardinal in Sudbury. IATSE has over 125 years’ experience representing entertainment workers.
